Mountains and Biodiversity: Nature-Based Solutions for Water and Climate Security

As part of the International Year for the Preservation of Glaciers (2025) and in collaboration with BioCarbon Standard, our CEO David Santiago Rocha participated as a guest speaker in the virtual event “Mountains and Biodiversity: Nature-Based Solutions for Water and Climate Security”, held on March 20, 2025.
The event was part of the official celebration of World Water Day and the first-ever World Glacier Day, bringing together experts, local communities, and organizations dedicated to conserving mountain ecosystems, biodiversity, and water regulation in the face of climate change.
David represented TECC in the panel of experiences, sharing a scientific perspective on the link between biodiversity, ecosystem services, and the restoration of high-Andean peatlands, emphasizing their crucial role in water security and carbon storage.
This international collaboration reflects TECC’s commitment to nature-based climate solutions and the protection of fragile mountain environments.
