
David Rocha
CEO & Co-Founder
Colombian ecologist with broad experience in nature-based solutions for climate change mitigation and adaptation. He has collaborated with Ecopetrol, IDEAM, Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, CIFOR, OEI, and CONPES, contributing to research, policy, and ecosystem management. As founder of Peatlands for the Future and co-founder of TECC, his work focuses on restoring and conserving high-Andean peatlands, ecosystems essential for carbon storage, hydrological regulation, and biodiversity. In 2023, he was recognized as a Peatland Restoration Steward by the Global Landscapes Forum.Previously, he advised Colombia’s Ministry of Environment on policies and projects for strategic ecosystems, particularly páramos, and consulted for SENA to promote sustainable agriculture and soil management. He has also served as a youth councilor in Bogotá and as a lecturer at Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, training young people in sustainability and climate change. Today, through TECC, he integrates science, community action, and innovation to deliver equitable, scalable, and high-impact climate solutions.

Manuel Olmos
COO & Co-Founder
​Ecologist from the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana with experience in the restoration and conservation of strategic ecosystems for climate change mitigation, including peatlands and wetlands. He has contributed to agroecology and biodiversity projects in the Colombian Caribbean, developing sustainable strategies for resource management and ecosystem protection. His expertise includes advanced use of Geographic Information Systems (GIS), statistical software, and modeling tools, allowing him to conduct spatial analyses, process environmental data, and prepare technical reports with accuracy. At TECC, Manuel leads operational strategies that integrate research, community participation, and conservation. His role is key to ensuring restoration initiatives are scientifically rigorous and socially inclusive, strengthening the connection between science and nature in decision-making and promoting climate resilience, biodiversity conservation, and sustainability for Colombia’s future.

Sebastian Arias
Project Management Advisor
Telecommunications engineer with a specialization in project management and nine years of experience leading projects for national operators, government institutions, and large corporations. His work has focused on connectivity and corporate services, ensuring technological solutions meet organizational needs. Sebastián’s expertise covers the full project cycle, from planning and coordination to execution and evaluation, guaranteeing compliance with agreements, fostering continuous improvement, and achieving strategic objectives. At TECC, he applies his project management skills to ensure the efficient and effective implementation of nature-based solutions. His capacity to coordinate complex initiatives, oversee multidisciplinary teams, and align technical processes with sustainability goals strengthens the organization’s ability to deliver high-impact climate projects. Sebastián’s leadership bridges technical expertise and environmental action, ensuring scalable, results-driven solutions that address both ecological and societal challenges.

Lina Betancur
Community Engagement Advisor
Social Communicator and Journalist passionate about research, community engagement, and participatory communication. She has worked as a digital strategist for companies and entrepreneurs, advising them on growth and strengthening their market presence. She has also led citizen participation projects with children, adolescents, and young people, as well as research initiatives with Indigenous and farming communities. Her professional experience includes collaborations with the Government of Antioquia, the Municipality of Medellín, universities, social organizations, and SENA, demonstrating her strong commitment to social development and education.
At TECC, Lina applies her expertise to foster effective communication and connect communities with conservation and restoration initiatives. Her role ensures that projects are participatory, inclusive, and impactful. By combining communication skills with a community-driven approach, she helps TECC address the climate crisis while strengthening social resilience and sustainability.

Ricardo Hernández
Sustainable Tourism Advisor
​Petroleum engineer with experience in well completion, workover operations, and technical sales in the hydrocarbons industry, one of the sectors with the highest contribution to global emissions. Aware of these challenges, he founded Traveling for Colombia, an environmental tourism agency dedicated to promoting sustainable development and ecosystem conservation through ecotourism. His work focuses on creating and implementing responsible tourism initiatives that combine conservation goals with local economic opportunities, generating income while protecting biodiversity. At TECC, Ricardo integrates his technical and entrepreneurial expertise to connect ecosystem conservation, particularly in páramos, with community-based tourism projects. This strategy strengthens environmental awareness, fosters sustainable livelihoods in rural areas, and demonstrates how conservation and economic growth can advance together. His vision contributes to building resilience in communities while positioning ecotourism as a driver of climate action.

Nubia Suarez
Biologist and Mountain Ecology Advisor
Biologist with a master’s degree in ecology from the National University of Colombia and a specialist in high mountain bird species. With 15 years of mountaineering experience, her connection with nature has deeply influenced her professional path. Her work investigates how natural environments affect human well-being, integrating research on the relationship between ecological conditions, body energy channels, and health. Alongside her scientific expertise, she has training in Traditional Chinese Medicine, as well as sound and energy therapies, which enrich her multidisciplinary vision. At TECC, Nubia applies her knowledge to strengthen connections between people and nature, encouraging practices that improve the quality of life while supporting the conservation of strategic ecosystems. Her perspective bridges ecological science and holistic approaches, advancing sustainability and fostering harmony between human health and the environment.

Sebastian Chaparro
Community Management Advisor
Social worker from the National University of Colombia with experience in community-based processes and participatory environmental management. He has specialized in collective water and risk management, collaborating with initiatives at the university that promote sustainable governance of natural resources. His career has focused on strengthening local participation in ecosystem conservation and advancing strategies for sustainable resource use in rural territories. At TECC, Sebastián applies his expertise in community engagement and resource management to ensure that nature-based solutions are socially inclusive, environmentally effective, and resilient. His ability to engage local communities, promote collective decision-making, and manage critical resources such as water is central to advancing TECC’s climate solutions strategy. Through this work, he contributes to building equity, resilience, and long-term sustainability, ensuring that ecological restoration also strengthens the social fabric.

Nicolas García
Environmental Sustainability Advisor
​Ecologist specializing in corporate environmental sustainability. He has worked with the Land Restitution Unit and Colombia’s Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development, focusing on implementing environmental management systems under standards such as ISO 14001. His experience includes advising companies on developing and executing environmental programs, training organizations in sustainable practices, and improving environmental performance. He has also supported data analysis processes to enhance decision-making and drive continuous improvement in environmental management. At TECC, Nicolás advises companies on integrating systems that reduce environmental impacts, strengthen sustainability, and ensure efficient resource management. His work promotes the connection between corporate operations and environmental responsibility, helping organizations align with climate goals, regulatory frameworks, and global sustainability standards, while positioning them as leaders in environmental stewardship and the transition toward more sustainable and resilient business models.
